Mr. Cajetan Iheka is our new ASA Echo Editor. He is a professional student at Central Michigan University. Membership
As you already know our membership is $5.00 a year. You can pay your dues at any of our events or gatherings or you can mail a money order or check to ASA of Michigan 19724 Houghton St Detroit Mi 48219.
Scholarships and Sponsorship
If you didn’t know before we have 3 standing scholarships
ASA Outstanding Student Scholarship - $250
NIDO of Michigan Student Scholarship - $300
Bonike Odegbami Educational Scholarship – One year tuition to any WCCCD campus.
A sponsor has added one more scholarship for exceptional leaders
EVAE Exceptional Leadership Scholarship - $300 (Executive board only)

Point System
Now to qualify for any of our scholarships you have to be an active member (it’s just $5.00). You will have to accumulate points to show that you have been active.

Membership Dues - 10 points
Attendance to any meeting - 5 points
Attending partner and sponsor events – 5 points.
ASA Banquet - 5 points attending 10 points if you participate
Leadership Conference - 5 points attending 10 points if you participate
ASA Olympics - 5 points attending 10 points if you participate
Community Service/Voulunteering - 10 points
Bring a friend to join and pays their membership due - 15 points.
The person with the highest points will be the ones considered for our already standing 3 scholarships and will be nominated to apply for such scholarships.
The 20 people with the highest points will be featured on our website and this will be updated periodically.
Events and Programs
Monthly we will try our best to inform you of events and programs, volunteer and employment opportunities and you can also check out our Calendar online for detailed information.
Color Scheme
As for the color system for our team structure, we have divided the school based on location and participation. When there are competitions these schools will partner together and compete accordingly.
WSU and U of D = Yellow
MSU and CMU = Green
U of M and EMU = Blue
WCCCD, Wastenaw, Henryford, Macomb, OCC = Red
Alumni = Black
